Artūrs Sliede - 540 kg

Former track and field athlete and shot putter Artūrs Sliede, who has been competing exclusively in weightlifting competitions for several years now, once again pleased with new Latvian records last Sunday. 

PARTICIPATING IN THE RECORD-BREAKING COMPETITION IN THE SECOND HEAVYWEIGHT, A. SLIEDE IMMEDIATELY BELIEVED HIS LATVIA RECORD IN THE CLASSIC TRIPLE TRAINING BY 17.5 (!) KILOGRAMS, WHICH IS A VERY RARE CASE IN WEIGHTLIFTING COMPETITIONS. In addition, the talented athlete also broke records in the bench press, reaching 186 kg, and in the clean and jerk, where the judges recorded 205.5 kg.

Artūrs Sliede works as a lecturer at the Riga Polytechnic Institute.
