Arturs was the Latvian record holder in the shot put for boys (5kg): from 14.88 to 16.66 m. Latvian record holder for youth - 15.38 m. USSR youth record holder (6 kg shot put) - 16.56 m. Latvian champion for men , Latvian indoor record holder : from 16.33 to 16.66 m. Three-time Latvian vice-champion (always behind Laimonis Kivlenieks). He also occasionally threw the discus and javelin.
