The Latvian weightlifting team has traveled to Berlin to meet the GDR Olympic team in a friendly competition, which will include the well-known masters Arnold, Dietrich, and Rieger. We can hope for a successful start, because recently at the Dynamo All-Union competition, our athletes broke republic records 13 times. The world ex-record holder Kārlis Pumpuriņš, Genadijs Ivančenko, Valentīns Bročs and Artūrs Sliede are in excellent form . Vladimirs Aņikins, Aleksandrs Diņnikovs, Anatolyjs Majasins, Vilis Pērkons will also compete in our team.
