At the «Dinamo» Junior All-Union Weightlifting Championships, our republic's representatives took 4th place. 

Artūrs Sliede, who competed out of competition, set two new Latvian records in the 2nd heavyweight category: clean & jerk - 212.5 kg, and in 2-lift total - 370 kg.
