Volleyball. USSR boys' champion in 1959 as part of the Latvian national team for sixteen-year-olds. Two-time winner of the Baltic Republics Cup (1959 and 1960). Participant of the All-Union School Spartakiad in Minsk and Baku.

Track & Field. Latvian record holder in shot put (5 kg) for boys: from 14.88 to 16.66 m. Record holder for youth - 15.38 m. USSR youth record holder (6 kg shot put) - 16.26 m (1962). Latvian champion of 1965 for men, national record holder indoors: from 16.33 to 16.66 m. Three-time Latvian vice-champion (always ahead of Laimonis Kivienieks). Also threw the discus with great effort.

Weightlifting. The first success in sports - without consulting a coach, only through self-study, I sports class was achieved in the triathlon total - 420 kg. In December 1967, the master of sports norm was first achieved - 460 kg. Latvian adult champion 1968-1972. Holder of forty national records. In the bench press - 206 kg (1971). In the triathlon total 565 kg in the heavyweight category. This result will never be beaten again in Latvia, because in 1973 the bench press was eliminated in weightlifting. On October 23, 1973, the last two Latvian records were achieved - 39th and 40th - in the snatch - 212.5 kg and in the snatch - 370 kg.
