A lot has been written about the records of Latvian weightlifters recently, they have broken many records - world, USSR and Latvian. Continuing the tradition, the second heavyweight athlete Artūrs Sliede has taken care of the latest record, who, like the new European champion Genādijs Ivančenko and other of our most prominent weightlifters, trains at Riga «Dinamo» under M. Fralfelds. He, participating in the opening sports festival of the Jurmala health resort season, pushed a barbell weighing 203.5 kg. This is a new Latvian record, and our absolute best achievement in this classic triathlon discipline . It is noteworthy that he improved the previous record in the snatch by three kilograms.
