At least theoretically, this second-heavyweight lifter Arturs Sliede, born in 1943, is currently the strongest Latvian in our homeland . Already in 1969, he lifted a total of 510 kg in the 3-lift, which has now been abolished, but last year he reached 367.5 kg in two attempts (157.5 in the snatch and 210 in the clean and jerk). Sliede's Latvian record in the clean & jerk alone is 210.5, and in the unofficial clean & press 206 kilograms.
