Latvian strongman Kārlis Pumpuriņš (left), who has also been a world record holder in light heavyweight weightlifting several times, has now moved up to the first heavyweight class, where he has increased his result in the triathlon to 540 kg. The other Latvian weightlifter, light heavyweight Vilis Pērkons, has reached a total of 500 kg. The most powerful of all, however, is the representative of the second heavyweight Arturs Sliede (right), whose total weight lifted in three techniques (push, snatch, clean and jerk) is now 542.5 kg . All of the above achievements are new records for occupied Latvia.
