In Riga, the republican individual weightlifting championships took place for several days at the Dinamo gym. Starting in the second heavyweight category, Valdis Alksnītis, a master of the Jēkabpils meat processing plant, won a small gold medal. He was second overall. Master of Sports Artūrs Sliede won first place .
